Open Art Class info

Open Studio Classes in Laine's Riverside Home Studio

Type of class:
My open studio classes are a great way to get motivated to take your art to the next level. These classes are for beginning through advanced artists. Several years ago I discovered the joy and motivation of painting with other artists who are learning to create their own style. While I may not have chosen to paint as they did, I learned from their techniques and encouragement.

How do we paint?
Each class is different. It is a full three hours of painting and sharing ideas. I have plenty of reference materials as well as art books and magazines for inspiration for your next project. I do encourage everyone to bring their own photos as well. I am happy to demo a technique as well as provide as much instruction as you need. I especially enjoy introducing you to the use of alternative techniques in painting such as using palette knives.

How much does it cost?
The fee is $50. per month which include 4 classes of 3 hours each.

What do I bring?
You will need your own paints, (acrylic, oil or water soluble oil) canvas and brushes. I provide paper towels, easels and pots for cleaning your brushes with water.

What time and location?
Wednesday classes are from 11:00 till 2:00.
Thursday classes are from 12:00 till 3:00 pm
Please feel free to bring snacks, lunch or dinner, and beverages. It is neither expected nor required. There is always plenty to share for everyone.

My Riverside studio is located at:
207 Third Ave., Columbia, Tn 38401

How do I pay and reserve my class?
You may mail a check to the above address by the 15th of the previous month or contact me to pay by credit card at 931-637-3858:
Each class is limited to 8 artists so you should always register in advance. Please e-mail me if you have any questions.

If you are already a participant in these classes, I really need your help. I'm asking that you register by the 15th of the previous month so that when there are any vacancies, I can open the class to new students wanting to enjoy this experience. I look forward to painting with you,
