Harry's Rooster...pictured in an earlier post SOLD

Hey everybody,  I just wanted to give a huge thanks to Harry (one of my dancing buddies) for giving me permission to paint his prize rooster.  I had painted a large one to sell and a smaller one to use in an upcoming workshop.  A wonderful young man pleaded with  me  that he just had to have it for his bride.  Having two wonderful sons has already  placed a special tenderness in my heart for most young men....you guessed it....I caved in.  Now I have to paint another rooster for an upcoming workshop.  Truthfully it's a wonderful problem....;-)  I'll post photos from the show later.  I just realized I'm about to be late to pick up my grand daughter Tina.

I am also beginning a new type of workshop on Saturday mornings at the Buffalo River farm and Studio
 B & B.

This will be a class for those who love to paint and wish to work on their own projects with a little help to make it come out the way you choose.  You will need to bring your own paints, brushes and canvas in your choices.  I will have easels available.  I promise when you paint in this awesome studio you are not gonna' believe the creativity that's gonna' flow out of you~!  This sits in the middle of 450 acres on the Buffalo River with a 12 foot deep porch.  The studio is 2 stories high with tons of amazing light.

Once a month we plan to go to a local winery and paint in "plein air" for those who would enjoy learning to see colors in nature as never before.

Now for the price:   are ya ready.....?   IT'S ONLY $65.00  for 4 classes~!  yes~!  that's right $65.00 for all four classes.

Many of you know when I began again to paint I got to paint and study with Hazel King for a couple of years.  One of the amazing things was that she made the cost so reasonable I could still afford to buy my supplies.  I've been dreaming of doing this for others who just love to paint.  When Donna Branch contacted me recently about using her studio, I knew I had found a fit.  For us to keep the price this low we will have to have your help in letting other artists know about it so PLEASE this is not the time to keep a secret~!  LOL   Tell everybody you know~!

This class begins on Saturday July 27, 2013 from 9 AM-12 PM and continues for 4 Saturdays. If you like it, we will continue the next month.  Please let me know ASAP if you want to be included in this group because when it's full .....well you get the picture. I already have several signed up just from me having done what I do well...which is "tell two people"  LOL

"Free Sailing"  20" x 10" painted on board using palette and or brushes

"Harry's Rooster"  14" x 11" painted on canvas using palette knives and or brushes

I've included the photo from this much favored rooster that I painted from.

"Drinking Life" 12" x 12" on board $200.00

This afternoon I had just finished this painting when I heard from a friend who has just won a fearless battle against cancer.  She told me how she is now "drinking life" and I knew I had a name for this painting.  Why do we wait for something so consuming to make us realize we need to be drinking life every day.  So here's to you Karen....let's empty the cup today and refill it tomorrow~!  Please let me know if you too will agree to drink life today~! What are we waiting for?

Ray's Flower

Three summers ago my neighbor Ray surprised me with a beautiful tropical plant called Clevia.  It only blooms once a year and usually very early in the spring When I posted a photo of it to Facebook several friends asked why I wasn't using it for a painting.  Yesterday I asked myself the same question.  So here it is.  Not being a literalism painter, it doesn't do it justice; however, it will remind me all year long just how breath taking this plant really is. The bloom is almost as large as both of my hands side by side.  Today with our weather threatening snow it also makes me ache for the tropics.   It definitely brightened a gloomy day here in Columbia.
